Providing Traction.

Smooth concrete, in cattle yards and walkways, is hazardous to cows

Smooth concrete increases the chance of cows slipping causing injuries.

A non slippery surface results in increased activity and positive behaviour from Cows.

Over time, your yard will become very slippery and dangerous surface both to livestock and humans.

If you have not provided a non-slip, hoof-friendly, texture

into the entire surface of the floors at the time of concrete placement

then we have the solution.

Don't delay, call us now - to groove and make safe those slippery and vulnerable ares.

The constant passage of animals and mechanical scrapers on concrete produces in time, a very slippery and dangerous surface both to livestock and humans.  Valuable cattle somtimes have to be disposed of, as a result of a fall or torn musciles caused by slipping on these floors.  Late winter cows and heifers feet, become very hard.  Heifers are especially unused to the concrete; freshly calved they are very vulnerable to the splits.

Will the grooves wear out?  Depends on serveral factors, amount of wear, hardness of concrete etc.

What normally happens is the exposed square glazes after 10-12 years and the edges are not so defined.  It is then a good idea to re groove, not staying in the existing grooves but to start afresh, to combat the glaze.

Simple, we pressure clean the selective areas and we then groove.

Its a simple yet effective method and if you are worried about startling cattle, don't be, from years of experience the cattle adjust to the noise within a matter of seconds.

The  area needs to be free of debris, washed thoroughly and scraped clean.

Groove your concrete yard, and make safe those slippery vulnerable surfaces safe.

Grooves are cut in two directions

Remove sharp edges, plane off the exposed stony aggregate and leave floor with a much smoother surface.

We provide surface that is easy to keep clean, kind to cows feet and still has enough grip to allow safe movement of animals.

spacing ensures that the pressure points on a cows foot are always on grooves.

For more grip, we cut grooves in both directions to leave squares on the surface.

Grooves are ‘V’ shaped, because of their ‘V’ shape, grooves will clean out (self Cleaning if wet)
